Who We Are
FRED HUNTER, RN, BSN, MBA/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Fred Hunter is the Chief Executive Officer of Desert Valley Hospital and Desert Valley Medical Group located in Victorville, California which is owned and operated by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. based in Ontario, California. The Desert Valley Hospital is a 148-bed acute care facility specializing in state of the art Interventional Cardiac Catheterization procedures, a dynamic Emergency Department, a Robotic Surgery program, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, and Women’s Services.
The Desert Valley Medical Group specializes in outpatient Primary Care Services, Pediatric Services, Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Hematology, Urology, Industrial Medicine, and Urgent Care Services.
Mr. Hunter is responsible for the administration and operations of the both the hospital and the medical group. He has over 24 years’ experience in healthcare management, physician and network contracting, managed care, and community based partnerships.
Prior to being appointed to his current position, Mr. Hunter served as the President and Chief Executive officer of Centinela Freeman Holdings, Inc. from 2007 to 2014 which owned and operated the Marina Del Rey Hospital and Medical Office Building in the city of Marina Del Rey, California as well as other real estate development corporations. In addition, he served as the Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer of Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center, Marina Campus from 2006 to 2007. From 2002 to 2006 he served as Chief Nursing Officer of Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center, Memorial Campus in Inglewood, California and from 2000 to 2002 he was the Director of Primary Care Services at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, California. Mr. Hunter also served as the Director of Critical Care and Emergency Services of Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles, California from 1998 to 2000 and as the Director of Nursing Administrative Services at Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center in Hawthorne, California from 1993 to 1998.
Mr. Hunter is licensed as a Registered Nurse and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and also a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the California State University Dominguez Hills.
Kyle Kindred loves life and all of the ups and downs that come with it. Kyle has a passion for helping others in any way he can. He works for Alaska USA Mortgage Company as a Mortgage Loan Originator and has been with the company for approaching 4 years. Assisting people with their financial needs is only one of the ways Kyle helps out in the community. Kyle and his family help generate donations for the Ronald McDonald House Charities as well as Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Kyle has called the High Desert his home for all 30+ years of his life, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Whether he is at work or spending time with his wife Autumn or son Sebastian, he is always looking to help others in need and to try and bring a smile to people’s faces.
My name is Charles Luebcke, I was raised in San Jose, CA and moved to the High Desert in 2003. I was married for 11 years to my business partner and best friend who passed suddenly in 2013. Together we owned Amazing Images Photography and the Brass Pickle Deli. In 2018, I decided to close the Brass Pickle Deli. I am the President of the HD Wedding and Events. I assist businesses who provide services to special events with semi-annual expos as well as educational information to promote exposure and marketing of their businesses. Our semi-annual events, allow residents meet and book with local professionals for any event planning they have coming up. I am also an independent consultant for CTFO.
I enjoy spending time with my chihuahua, CoffeeBean, morning lattes and the company of my best friend and her family. My slice of heaven on earth is Maui, my favorite vacation spot. As your Man About Town, I ask for your vote, together let us support the Phoenix Foundation proving services to those in need in our High Desert.
In my spare time you can usually find me out and about volunteering with non profits such as Relay For Life and Holiday Meals. Besides volunteering you may be able to find me on television as I’ve been contestant’s on a few different game shows as well as in the audience whenever I can. When I’m not in the crowd you may be able to find me on stage as I’ve been doing stand up comedy for a little over a year. I’ve performed at the Ontario Improv, Pasadena Ice House, and various local venues near you.
I’m truly grateful that I’ve been asked to represent the Phoenix Foundation for the City of Barstow as it allows me to help spread the word of such a worthy organization. Thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do!
Manuel Ruiz is owner and grill master of Already Gold BBQ Mobile Catering. Manuel moved to the high desert in 2011 and knew this was where he wanted to call home. Now with 5 amazing boys ages 13 to 10 months and his wife Valerie Ruiz, Manuel strives to be a great example and leader for his family. Always thriving to show his boys to be a better person, and to lead by example.
Manuel has always supported local charities over the years, such as C.A.R.S. Body Shop’s annual Toy drive. Where he played Santa Clause and distributed toys to local high desert children. He also donates his time cooking for various causes, Thanksgiving dinner for the children’s cancer ward at the City of Hope hospital, dinners for Victory Outreach men’s home, Barbequing for the Family Assistance domestic violence march, and other non-profits. Now he is thrilled to supporting and rising money for the High Desert Phoenix Foundation’s Man about town 2019.
John Schneider is a Laboratory Supervisor at St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley. He has been active in the laboratory community in the high desert for nearly a decade and has also been part of the Laboratory leadership at Desert Valley Hospital as well as at the Prime Healthcare Corporate office for Laboratory IT. Along with John’s professional career in healthcare, he is also a part owner and Brewmaster at Off the Grid Brewing Company where he has been involved in numerous charities for the local community. At the brewery you can find John working hard performing any of the many tasks that brewery life requires, or simply enjoying the fruits of the labor. John lives in Apple Valley with his beautiful wife Cassy and is the father of two amazing little girls. As a family, they enjoy hiking and rock climbing in the local hills around Apple Valley and day trips to Big Bear for more hiking, skiing, or sledding.
Eric Sinclair is a Registered Representative with Capstone Consulting Group, a Victorville based financial planning firm since 2000. He is also co-owner and manager of Landmark Professional Insurance. Eric’s story is successfully assisting his clients overcome life’s challenges as they plan for a financially secure retirement. He was honored as one of the top three Best of the Desert Financial Planners in 2017.
He was born and raised in West Los Angeles. He came to the High Desert in 1989 with his young family looking to experience the rural lifestyle. It wasn’t long before the family had acquired various animals including Eric’s childhood dream of horses and they got involved with the 4-H Club. A few years later he met Tom Schibusch at a Business Mixer, accepted his invitation to join Tom’s team for the March of Dimes. Eric has supported the walk for over 20 years and they have become loyal friends.
Eric is a man on a journey, a ‘man about town’ whose passion is to bring about goodwill and understanding amongst the children of God. He has a deep faith in God, our country, and people in general; striving to serve his fellow man, being drawn to causes that are based on true humanitarian principles. He believes in giving back to the community. He lives in Apple Valley with his wife Karen.
He is a supportive member of the Apple Valley, Hesperia and Victor Valley Chambers of Commerce; active member of the Victorville Republican Club; charter member and past president of the Hesperia Daybreak Toastmasters Club and High Desert Ignite supporter since inception and 2018 speaker.
He is honored to be a participant raising money on behalf of the Phoenix Foundation. Support the cause.
I was born in Compton, California in 1970. My family moved up to the High Desert in 1979 and my father started the family business “Sooter Sign Company”. I attended Apple Valley Junior High School and graduated from AVHS class of 1988. My father, Jerry Sooter Sr, was the last honorary Mayor of Apple Valley, before the town became incorporated and my graduating class was the first of the newly established Apple Valley Unified School District. All through school I concentrated on art, music, drama and technical theater. I attended VVC where I was certified in digital animation (2d and 3d) also in media arts and making the Chancellor’s List with a 4.0 GPA.
I became a father in 1990 of twin baby girls, Jessica and Kyrsten… tragically losing Kyrsten at 4 months old to S.I.D.S. (sudden infant death syndrome) we had another baby girl soon after, Kaleigh…. Years later, I got married to my wife of 23 years, Tisha. We have two beautiful children, Dustin and Dakota, whom also performed in the “Sunsations Show Choir”, eventually both graduated from my alma mater as well.
Flash forward to now… I’m an entertainer, singer, musician and have been a member of the local band “Southern Spirit” for over 25 years. I’m also a founding member of the local band “Merletallica”. Playing music has afforded some amazing opportunities to travel and share the same stage and/or bill with artists such as; Merle Haggard, Shanendoah, Mark Chesnutt, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Armored Saint, Quiet Riot and list goes on.
I acquired my c45 contractor’s license for electrical signage. I took over the family business in 2014 and we are still blessed to be serving the High Desert area for 40 years. Recently, I was invited by the state contractors licensing board to be an “expert consultant” in re writing the testing for the c45.
In closing, I’m just your local singing, sign guy… you may see me on a jobsite in our bucket truck or you may see me performing at a local venue or at the San Bernardino County Fair but I have to say… being involved with charity organizations that are really helping people in my local community such as the Phoenix Foundation, is the most gratifying. I am humbled and honored to helping give back to families and individuals in need… it’s the least we can do to spread the love and inspire!!!

- John enjoys a nice boring life with his wife Kathy, his two children Bonny and Michael, and their three rescued dogs, Luck, Sally and Rosie.
